Multivax

Project: Multivax

Type: Steward/Performer

Location: Falmouth, Cornwall

Dates: 27th May

Multivax brought together actors/musicians/artists in performance to create an immersive, storytelling experience using various locations within the AMATA Building, Falmouth. The event was created by a group of two theatre students who were creating a piece around the idea of video games and ‘play’ who worked with many contributors and volunteers in order to achieve this.

Knowing one of the designers of the event, James Kenny, I was able to assist him with any questions about logistics throughout the process before coming in to volunteer on the day. This included set up of décor, technical equipment and signage, before featuring in the event as a performer/steward.

This event was something unlike anything I have done before, bringing the attendees into the story and allowing them to have their own impact upon the event they experienced, travelling through the event in a team of five. Designing the event for a select number of attendees who were required to solve a riddle in order to gain a chance at winning a ticket spread news of the event through word of mouth and gave a great insight into the themes of the event.

Whilst working as a part of this team I was able to learn new DIY skills with a resourceful and creative team leader.
